How it works

A young woman in a dark red turtleneck uses her smartphone, which displays a facial recognition grid on her face. The setting is simple with soft lighting and a gray background, emphasizing modern technology.

Why it’s important

The dome of a hearing aid is the soft, little cup-shaped piece of plastic/rubber that attaches to the tubing on the hearing aid and fits inside your ear.

Domes come in a variety of shapes, sizes and diameters. Since everyone’s ears are different, it’s important to get the right fit for you.

The wrong size can affect the way you hear, the quality of the sound itself, create incomfort, itchiness, or may cause the hearing aid to fall out on its own.

A dome too small will constantly dislodging itself causing disccomfort or even falling out completely.

A dome too big will cause disccomfort or pain, modify sound perception and put pressure on your ear.
