How it works

1 -

Answer a short questionnaire

Answer very few basic questions regarding your age and gender and whether you believe you have hearing difficulties in specific noise backgrounds and daily situations. For example, if you find it hard to follow conversations in noisy restaurants, at the mall etc.

2 -

Choose a quiet place

Background noise may affect the hearing screening results, so we recommend you find a quiet place before starting the test. After being fully guided to calibrate the volume of the computer, phone or tablet, you can test your hearing using a pair of headphones.
For more accurate results, Auzen recommends using over-ear headphones of good quality.

3 -

Check the setup

After putting on the headphones, just tap or press the button to play the audio test, and check if you hear the test sound coming from one or both ears.

4 -

Start the test

To start the test, the following conditions should be met:
  • The headphones are connected.
  • The device volume is set to its maximum level.
  • The surrounding environment is quiet and free of background noise.
The hearing screening test checks one ear at a time for different sounds and voices.

5 -

Get the results

The results show if you have hearing loss and whether it is significant, moderate or mild. They don’t provide the specifics of an audiogram, but they can give you a better understanding of whether you may need hearing aids in the first place.

Online hearing screening tests

In-person audiograms

They reveal the type and degree of hearing loss with precision.
They are easy to take from anywhere, from a smartphone, tablet or computer.
They require an appointment with an ENT and an audiologist.
They are free of charge.
They have a cost but are generally covered by insurance.
